‘Heaven on Earth’ titled ‘Videsh’ for Indian territory

Deepa Mehta’s ‘Heaven On Earth’ starring Preity Zinta and newcomer Vansh Bhardwaj has already released in Canada getting an overwhelming response. The movie has also given Preity Zinta the ‘Best Actress’ award at the Chicago film festival and the nomination at the 29th Genie Awards (which is the Canadian equivalent to the Oscars).

Produced under the banner of BR Films, the movie will be released in Inida this March under the title of ‘Videsh’. Says Sanjay Bhutani, CEO of BR Films, “We did not want our Indian audiences to misinterpret the title Heaven on Earth and consider it to be an English film. Hence we changed the film’s name to Videsh as this would connect well with the Indian audiences.”
